2021 Harley-Davidson® Road King® Special near Manchester NH
Twin States Harley-Davidson® is delighted to announce that the 2021 Harley-Davidson® Road King® Special is now available to test ride at our location serving Lebanon Swanzey Meredith Manchester. The Road King® is widely regarded as one of the best touring motorcycles ever designed, and the Road King® Special enhances the package with a more powerful engine, an LED headlamp, Prodigy wheels and a sleek black finish. What makes the Road King® and its Special variant such popular options are that they are built on Harley-Davidson®’s modern touring platform but harken back to the classic touring machines.
The Road King®
Both the Road King® and the Road King® Special are available now to test ride at our location serving Lebanon Swanzey Meredith Manchester. You can schedule a test ride online, and we highly recommend that you do. This is a motorcycle that has to be experienced in person to be fully appreciated. What many riders love about the Road King® is that despite being a tourer, it is fun, comfortable and practical to ride around town or to use to commute to work. But it also holds up on long rides and is an excellent option whether you like to cross state lines or take on the challenge of your local twisties.
The Road King® Special
The Road King® is often referred to as a stripped-down bagger. The 2021 Harley-Davidson® Road King® Special near Manchester is a premium edition with the biggest visual difference being that most of the chrome accents on the base model are blacked out here. That provides the Road King® a more modern appearance for those that prefer it over the more classic feel. The windshield is also eliminated for more of a performance look. The Slicer II wheels are swapped out for Prodigy wheels, an LED Daymaker headlamp is standard, and the Special has a Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin engine instead of a 107.
The Road King® Special Is the Right Bike For…
The Road King® is aimed at riders who want a Harley-Davidson® touring motorcycle but prefer not to have a fairing. This is the key reason why the Road King® is alluring to many riders, and if you are unsure, we highly recommend multiple test rides so that you can compare the difference. Otherwise, you can expect traditional touring characteristics, such as upright rider positioning, floorboards, a passenger seat and saddlebags, which open with a single touch in this case. Riders opt for the Special over the base model for the more powerful engine, the blacked-out appearance and the Daymaker headlamp.
The difference between the Milwaukee-Eight 114 and 107 is about 10 percent more horsepower and 10 percent more pound-feet of torque. At low revs, there is not a significant, but higher up there absolutely is, and you will be thrilled to have the additional power when passing another vehicle or entering a highway. It is also a lot more fun on the twisties. Another point to consider is the upgrade kits. An upgraded 107 tops out at 114 performance whereas a 114 can be upgraded to 117 performance.
While ABS is standard, the 2021 Harley-Davidson® Road King® Special near Manchester is also available with the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems. RDRS is a series of technologies that automatically engage to provide the rider greater control. There benefit here is when accelerating and cornering in riding conditions that are less than ideal. But the benefits can be felt in normal conditions too, such as when coming to a stop and launching at a traffic light. If you have never experienced RDRS, we highly recommend test riding the Road King® Special with and without RDRS.
